Schmaltz Bar & Delicatessen is a combined restaurant, bar and deli located in the heart of Stockholm. We developed a visual identity and website that mirrors their cuisine and unique, friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Influenced by traditional Jewish delis in New York and inspired by the relaxed and charming vibe found at aperitivo bars in Italy, Schmaltz is a modern hybrid of a restaurant, bar, café and deli that welcomes you from early mornings until late evenings.
Located in the same building as an old Jewish school from the beginning of the 20th century, Schmaltz serves delicious preserved meats and cheese, homemade savory pies with pickled vegetables and appetizing cocktails.

When developing the visual identity we took inspiration from old Italian cafés and neon signs from American corner shops. We wanted to create an identity that felt timeless, combining the warmth and simplicity of a family-owned deli with the premium feel of an elegant cocktail bar. A look that would give you a taste of the food being served and the impression of a place that has existed forever - yet still changes everyday.
